Walleater are an alternative band from Leeds, UK. It's hard to pinpoint exactly where they fall on the spectrum of the UK scene, as they manage to incorporate so many different staples of so many different genres into their tracks, along with the ever-evolving nature of their releases.

Close to Home first worked with Walleater alongside Cult Culture to bring you their demo, A Masking Aura, back in 2013.

From there, we helped the band release their debut EP. With four tracks spread across two separate 7" releases, we brought Walleater's brand of shoegaze / alternative crossover to vinyl for the very first time.

The release subsequently got them noticed by US independent label Tiny Engines (The Hotelier, Sinai Vessel), becoming the first UK band to join forces with the label. They have gone on to re-release the EP with Tiny Engines and later release a double-A side single.

You know those feels you get when the sun hits a body of water in just the right way, or you tell someone you love them and their face doesn’t crumple into a tortured mask of distress? ... That’s what Walleater sound like.

Walleater re-imagine the kind of equally leaden and lush ambiance that deserves some sort of revival. It’s going to be a moody year, and I’m ready for it.
